(More customer reviews)This part is what you need to replace when steering on your riding lawnmower gets sloppy. Replace it early before the gears start skipping teeth or you will need to replace the steering shaft gear also.
This part is prone to "oval out" where the end of the steering shaft goes through and allow the steering shaft gear to come out of good mesh with the sector gear which causes failure of all three parts if allowed to go too far..

The blade came well packaged, sharp, and works great. I don't bag my lawn and it cuts and mulches fantastically. I couldn't be happier. Has stayed sharp for two seasons now, and i still don't feel like i need to take it off to sharpen as the cuts are still very clean.

(More customer reviews)I have a Husky 22" 5 1/2 hp push mower (MTD 11A-508N731). The original part was 731-1034B, which has now been replaced by 931-1034B. The cover just bolts on with 2 screws, used the same screws from the old one. Only issue was it didn't have threads in the plate of the new cover, so it's a little tricky to get started. Once you do, you can tighten them down no problem.
I would have liked to have seen a better design, it's still just as breakable as before, attached only by soft plastic. But that's how companies make money, by selling replacement parts, or by making you buy all new products, right?

I can confirm that. The blade does a super job of mulching magnolia tree leaves which specially are difficult, and also mows well. The price is also much better.
