I agree with the other reviews here, in that these will stop your tractor from scalping in most cases. Be aware that if you have an area where your tractor REALLY digs in, nothing will stop all of the scalping. This wheel kit does dramatically improve the look of our lawn, and does a good job of preventing most scalping situations.
Installation was straightforward, which is good because there are basically no instructions included short of "install the wheels on your mowing deck". It took me about 15 minutes to install these on my Yard Machines tractor. It also gave me an excuse to clean and lube my tractor, and to sharpen my blades.
The first time mowing with the deck wheels took a little getting used to. I have been using my tractor for about 4 years without the wheels and now it will get hooked on things, like sidewalk edges and the like. Fortunately these deck wheels are super strong and do not seem to bend, rather the tractor will come to a grinding halt forcing you to reverse to free the stuck wheel. After getting accustomed to where in my yard they tend to hang up, I have changed my mowing to ensure they stay free.
You may be better off attaching only the wheel opposite your discharge chute. I notice that since the chute on my tractor is on the right, I tend to make left turns around obstacles (trees, fences, etc), and that the right side is what scalps. The left wheel is always the one that hangs on objects, as I tend to cut close to objects on this side. I also see many new models in the stores that only have one wheel on the discharge side. I suspect this may be the reason.
