This is a special type of hitch pin made for tractors. It is 4-inches in length and has a diameter of 3/8". The metal portion of the hitch pin is drop forged, for strength and durability. The top portion of it, is made out of plastic.
What is cool about this hitch pin is that, you don't need a cotter pin to secure it. This pin has retractable wings, or arms, that keep the pin in place. All you have to do, is squeeze the plastic trigger with your hand, and the arms will retract inward.
You can then insert the pin and let go of the trigger, the arms will retract outward. Keep in mind though, the hitch pin in total is 9" long. Because of this, I was not able to use this on my tractor, as there is a bagger support bar in the way. IMO, this hitch pin, needs to be 3" shorter, and then it will work.
Because of dirt buildup, make sure to oil the retracting arms often.
