I was able to handle some of it by myself, but when it came to mounting the polly cart to the frame, I needed a second person. This is because the cart is so big, that you can't reach your hand over to hold the bolt in place, while you are slipping on the nut, underneath the outside of the cart.
NOTE: The instructions do state you need two people to assemble this, they aint kidding!
WEIGHT: I recently used this cart to haul at least 1200-pounds worth of gravel in "two loads" of course. Since gravel weighs a lot, I did not want to overload the cart so I did not fill it up heaping. I have to say, I'm impressed as the axle never bent, and nor did the tires deflate. In other words, I truly believe this cart can be loaded to its rated weight capacity of any type of material.
HAULING: I have also used this cart to haul away yard waste, if you liked your wheel barrel before for that sort of thing, your really going to like this! It holds so much more then your wheel barrel and can reduce your amount of trips to your compost pile by 50%. And because of its dump mechanism, weather yard waste or other material, makes unloading a breese.
CONCLUSION: Remember, when you go to assemble this dump cart, make sure you have a second person available. Also, do not forget to inflate the tires before each use, to at least 15-PSI. And, do not exceed the weight capacity of tires and cart together. Furthermore, if you do all that, plus grease the bearings once per year, you should not have any problems with this cart. I think these are better then the steel models and I do not have any regrets.
TIP: If you ever puncture the tires, Fix-A-Flat is the product to use to get you going again without the need of replacing the whole tire!
UPDATE! 2009
Its been nearly two years since I purchased this pull behind polly/dump tractor cart. There is some noticable cosmetic damage inside the cart due to it being polly/plastic, but cosmetics in no way impede its performance to get the job done.
I find this cart is holding up quite well, there are no holes, cracks, or breaks of any kind in the plastic. And the metal framework which holds the cart all together is also in excellent condition. The axel is still in good condition and so are the tires.
The only thing with the tires is that you have to remember to pump them up each time you use your hauling cart for a job. I have used it to haul gravel, dirt, and yard waste and have had no issues with it what so ever.
NOTE: Sears still sells these but they no longer have the Craftsman logo on them. Sears labels them as universal dump carts.
