On the generator it alows me to keep track of how long I can run on tank of gas and how much time I put on generator while camping so I know when to change oil. It was really suprising the hours put on during my 8 day trip, 40 hours need to change oil at 50 per manual. easy to install one wire to ground other wire wrap around spark plug wire
